Diary (1862-1865) of Pigott while he was living in Beaufort, N.C., perhaps transcribed from an earlier original, describing life in the town during Civil War occupation, and carbon typescript of the diary; together with a typescript sketch of Pigott's cousin, Emeline J. Pigott, written by him in 1902 and a roster of soldiers who joined Company I, 30th Regiment North Carolina Troops between Sept. 10. 1861 and May 12, 1864.

Emeline Jamison Pigott (December 15, 1836 – May 26, 1919) was a spy for the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. For several years, she hid contraband messages in her skirt and carried them between New Bern, North Carolina (NC), and local sea ports.
